Meals On Wheels

Healthy Meals Delivered By Community Volunteers : Since 1970, the Meals On Wheels program
has provided nutritious meals to homebound persons in Salina. At the present time, volunteers deliver
approximately 150 hot noon meals every weekday to all Salina neighborhoods.  Volunteers also deliver hundreds
of frozen meals every month to Meals On Wheels customers for evening, weekend and holiday meals.

What is the cost of the meals?
The cost is $4.75 per meal for hot meals and $3.25 per meal for frozen meals. At the end of the month a
statement is mailed that lists meals delivered and total cost for the month. The statement will be mailed to the
person receiving meals or their designated financial representative. Payments may be made by check, credit
card, or Kansas Vision card (food stamp voucher).

Financial assistance is available. No eligible person will be denied Meals On Wheels because of an inability to
pay for the meals. Contact Meals On Wheels staff at 823-7555 for more information about financial assistance
options.
